Find Your Voice and Master Your Craft With Ease and Efficiency

Jonathan Shue specializes in helping students realize their singing, songwriting, and instrument-playing potential whether they’re a total beginner or seasoned performer. He believes everyone can sing, compose, and play an instrument and that it’s never too late to learn! It’s all about breaking things down into small, manageable steps, defining specific goals, and developing a pathway toward achieving them.

A seasoned professional actor, musician, and singer with over 20 years of teaching experience, Jonathan helps students develop confidence speaking, singing, and playing music with and for others. He guides singing students toward finding their authentic voice through both written and vocal technique exercises and warmups. Whether learning or re-learning how to play, he helps guitar, ukulele, and voice students understand their skeletal system so that they can play and sing with less effort, more efficiency, and more fun! For those who wish to explore the personal and professional world of songwriting, he reveals the foundations and structures that lead to well-crafted music.

Drawing upon the Alexander Technique and Kristin Linklater’s groundbreaking voice work, Jonathan helps students integrate music more fully into their lives. He emphasizes “the whole self” while helping students connect breath and voice, whether it’s through singing, songwriting, playing music, or simply having fun!

Jonathan’s professional background includes performances in award-winning regional theatre productions, international touring, music composition and arrangement for theatre companies across Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle, and extensive work as a performer, producer, songwriter, promoter, and musician. For nine years, he was the Education Director for Dusty Strings Music Store & School in Seattle, WA, where he helped bring award-winning musical artists from around the world to teach and perform for students of all ages. Jonathan has spoken on music education and written articles for the NAMM Show and was featured in American Lifestyle magazine.
